MacDougal Celebrates Dr. Seuss’s Birthday!
Children and teacher alike enjoyed celebrating the birthday of Dr. Seuss, a popular author of imaginative children’s books for early readers. In honor of the occasion, guest speakers from our community such as Superintendent Judy Lucarelli, Rockland District High School Principal Tom Forti, and RSU 13’s Health Coordinator Woody Moore joined our classrooms to read Dr. Seuss books to the students. Guest speakers showed their spirit by donning red and white stripped top hats while reading to their audience. Each class rotated between eight classrooms to hear various Dr. Seuss stories. The birthday celebration was topped with a little cake!
Dr. Seuss books are widely known for their witty rhymes and crazy characters. The plots are engaging and often teach children a broader lesson such as in “Oh, the Places You’ll Go” where children learn that dreams are achievable even when there are a “few bumps in the road”!
